The experimental punk and “future jazz” band, Zeta, is currently on their “Mil Años en Tour” Tour. They started up the US West Coast, and will finish up their dates in Florida. Coming from Venezuela by way of Miami, Florida, their amazing work ethic is evident in their complex songwriting and constant touring. Zeta incorporates the aggressiveness of punk hardcore, the textured expanses of post-rock, fluctuations of meter and beat in jazz, and Afro-Latino rhythmic percussion. They have been featured on Audiotree and Little Elephant, two popular musical platforms who feature notable bands through live sessions. Little Elephant is known for pressing limited vinyl copies of every band’s performance. These guys are one of the most consistent and hard-working musicians in the industry right now. However, Zeta is more than just guys making music. They are artists who create a positive community wherever they go, and share culture through food.
Founding member Daniel Hernandez Saud is an amazing chef, and hosts potlucks and feasts while traveling on tour. Vegan macaroni and cheese, savory stews, BBQ, and other delicious foods can found at one of these events. One of his most recent culinary concepts is a falafel sandwich on a bolillo bun, with all of the fixings (tahini, onion, tomato, cucumber, olives, and pickles). It was immediately a favorite among the dozens of people at the dinner party, having combined a Mediterranean dish with a Mexican staple. His positive vibes are extended through his culinary art. People often say that “love” is the one of the most important ingredients in a recipe, and it’s certainly felt in Dani’s cuisine.Zeta’s musical style is similar to their approach to culinary art. They are merging different artistic approaches to tastefully create something completely unique. The elements complement each other, without overpowering one another. With a keen attention to detail, Zeta uses subtle nuances to enhance their visual, musical, and culinary arts. They continually write new material, and are always focused on pushing the boundaries of art and music. Zeta is currently working with Los Angeles-based recording engineer Marcel Fernandez on their upcoming release.
