UC Riverside’s University Theatre Tuesday October 14th 8pm SHARP!
The internationally acclaimed performance artist Laurie Anderson returns to the UC Riverside Theatre on Tuesday, October 14th with special guest, the legendary Lou Reed, founder of one of the most important bands in rock music history, The Velvet Underground. Laurie Anderson, who is also a recording artist, with hit records such as “Mr. Heartbreak,” creates her most amazing production to date, HOMELAND a concert poem driven by the urgent politics and powerful questions gripping our world today: how did we get here and where are we going? Weaving a visual and sonic tapestry through spoken word, music and technology, Anderson offers audiences a deeply compelling narrative on the push and pull of freedom and fear in today’s America. Each performance of “Homeland” is improvisatory and unique, and this one is especially so. At UC Riverside, Laurie Anderson will be joined by a special guest, the legendary Lou Reed, founder of The Velvet Underground, cited by critics and music historians as possibly the most influential rock group ever and member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
