Seattle’s sweet tooth inducing Seapony graced LA at Part Time Punks at the Echoplex Sunday night along with Grave Babies, and Craft Spells. All bands created a mesmerizing night of modern new wave going from the sounds of raw gutters and melodic chainsaws of Grave Babies, to Seapony who owned the stage with flawless chemistry that enchanted the crowd with their feel good music, and lastly to the irresistibly sweet (and utterly cute) electro pop of Craft Spells.
We got to share some giggles with Seapony prior to the show- Tune in Friday to hear who they predicted would win at the VMA’s that night, what inspired their sweet summery sound, and how they became a quartet through college radio, all with KUCR DJs Neill and Alexis.
The interview will be aired Friday September 2nd at 3:00pm on The Fun Slide w/ Alexis.

San Francisco quartet bring to the world (self-coined) old school space age new wave music. Taking influence from the 80s and making it their own with more modern sounds comparable to Erase Errata & Sleater-Kinney, they rock hard full of fierce energy, sometimes incorporating instruments like a bike frame into their shows.
Currently on tour for their 2nd full-length, Tonic for Hysteria, they stopped by KUCR studios for an interview. Check them out today August 26, 2011 at 3:00pm on The Fun Slide with Alexis!

An interview with Baths!:
NEILL: Hi Baths.
BATHS: Hello!
NEILL: So what’s real name?
BATHS: My real name is Will—Will Wiesenfeld. Baths is just a newly adopted pseudonym as of a year and a half ago.
NEILL: How did you come up with it?
BATHS: I love taking baths. It started that simply, but then like there’s like a lot of really interesting connotations with the word so I feel in love with it very early on. I thought it was going to be a song title or an album title but then I changed projects, so I just adopted the name.
NEILL: Where did you originally start off, like who did you originally start playing your music to?
TRISHA: Where are you from first of all?
BATHS: Yeah, I’m from Los Angeles and I’ve only ever made music out of L.A., like I’ve never—I haven’t lived anywhere else.
